For those who have a horse . For those who don’t might not understand…
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, "it's just a horse,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a horse". They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a horse." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "it's just a horse"
Many hours have passed and my only company was "it's just a horse," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by " just a horse," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a horse" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day. If you, too, think it's " just a horse," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
" just a horse" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. " just a horse" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. Because of " just a horse" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not " just a horse" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. " just a horse" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not " just a horse" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman"
or " just a horse." So the next time you hear the phrase " just a horse"
JUST smile, because they "JUST" don't understand.

matter, small enough to win." -- Jonathan Kozol
My treasures do not chink or glitter, they gleam in the sun and neigh in the night!!!
when Rosalee tried riding her strawberry roan things got a little western.
OH THAT STRAWBERRY ROAN
Let me tell you a tale. A good one I know. About a young mare a strawberry roan that is worth leaving alone. They say she is a real beauty but the gal that gets on her might get throwed.
Rosalee was hanging out at the ranch just spending her time on vacation from teaching, not spending a dime.
Out in the horse corral standing alone is a young caballo a strawberry roan. A beauty like you’ve not seen before. On a delicate head a pair of big round eyes, small ears, elegant neck, long sloping shoulders, big hip and flowing black mane and tail. Her red roan coat glistening in the morning sun. Rosalee was breaking her to saddle for her own. Hoping by the time the summer sun was hot in the Colorado sky next year to be chasing cans with the best. Heading for the corral to ride her strawberry roan she slipped on her boots, pulls up her chinch and screws her saddle down tight. Steps aboard ready to ride as she had done ten or more times before.
We know she’s not a bronc rider by the looks of her clothes. As riding wild pony’s is not her middle name. So when strawberry only lacked wings to be on the fly, turned on a dime and gave some change. Rosalee went up with her but came down alone. That sunfishing twister is worth leaving alone. She’s the worst bucking bronco seen on the ranch. There’s nary a buster from Ramah to Rush that can ride that strawberry roan.
When Johnny saw is wife all battered and bruised he reminded her she is not a bronc rider and gave her a ten spot to stick to barrel racing.
Needless to say strawberry has found a new home. Rosalee broke her shoulder and is now waiting to see if she is going to have sugary to repair the damage the fall caused. Thankfully Rosalee was wearing her helmet at the time of the accident. We all wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to havening her back chasing cans with us as soon as possible.
When your
day seems out of balance,
And so many things go wrong,
When people fight around you,
And the day drags on so long.
When parents act like children,
In-laws make you think "Divorce",
Go out into your pasture...
Wrap your arms around your horse.
His gentle breath enfolds you,
And he watches with those eyes,
He may not have a PhD,
But he is oh so wise!
His head rests on your shoulder,
You embrace him oh so tight,
He puts your world in balance,
And makes it seem all right.
Your tears they soon stop flowing,
The tension is now eased,
The garbage has been lifted,
And you're quiet and at peace.
So when you need the balance,
From circumstances in your day,
The best therapy that you can seek,
Is out there chomping hay!

You will receive a point for each race you attend as well as points in the division you place the highest in. If you are running more than one horse and for example you place 4th in the 1D which would be 2 points and you won the 4D on a different horse for 5 points you would get 6 points for the race. Until the computer program is running we will be letting you draw a number when you enter. If all the numbers are not filled you will be moved up. Example if you draw 35 and there are 20 entries and there are five open spots above you everyone will move up until all openings are full. You would end up 30 instead of 35. Iff you have two horses to close together we would try and trade you with someone else to separate you at least one drag.

two horses walk in faith
Two Horses
> Just up the road from my home is a field,
> with two horses in it.
> From a distance, each looks like every other horse.
> But if you stop your car, or are walking by,
> you will notice something quite amazing.
> Looking into the eyes of one horse will
> disclose that he is blind.
> His owner has chosen not to have him put down,
> but has made a good home for him.
> This alone is amazing.
> If nearby and listening,
> you will hear the sound of a bell.
> Looking around for the source of the sound,
> you will see that it comes from the
> smaller horse in the field.
> Attached to her halter is a small bell.
> It lets her blind friend know where she is,
> so he can follow her.
> As you stand and watch these two friends,
> you'll see how she is always checking on him,
> and that he will listen for her bell and then
> slowly walk to where she is, trusting that she
> will not lead him astray. When she returns to the
> shelter of the barn each evening, she stops
> occasionally and looks back, making sure her
> friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.
> Like the owners of these two horses,
> God does not throw us away just because
> we are not perfect or because we have problems
> or challenges. He watches over us and even brings
> others into our lives to help us when we are in
> need.
> Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by
> the little ringing bell of those who God places in
> our lives.
> Other times we are the guide horse, helping others
> see.
> Good friends are like this ..........
> You don't always see them,
> but you know they are always there.
> Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.
> "Be kinder than necessary,
> for everyone you meet is
> fighting some kind of battle".
A first grade
teacher had twenty-five students in her class and she
presented each child in her class the first half of a well known proverb
and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard
to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may
surprise you. While reading these keep in mind that these are first
graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is classic!
1. Don't change
horses......................until they stop running.
5. You can lead a
horse to water but .....how?
I want to personally thank each one of you for the awesome gift of the carousal horse. What a fantastic gift. Each one of you are very special and I'm thankful to know you. We are looking forward to next year and what it will bring. Jack & I want to wish each of you a happy holiday season. May it bring blessings from above on you and your families. As most of you already know we will be spending the end of Dec in Ill. Where I will be having sugary on my hip. I have retired Zena she will be raising babies as it will be awhile before I'm able to ride. In the mean time Jack will working with Za Hav our yellow mare. We will be back for the Kick off race on the 2nd of January. At least you will see Jack. I'm depending on my great office staff Becky, Candace, Sandra, Rosalee, Debra and Raina to pull it all off. I'm sure they will do a great job with out me, as they are the one's that keep it all running smooth. There will be great division awards so be sure and plan on starting off the New Year with a Bang. As always when it come to a tie for awards at the end of the year the number of races count to break ties so it's important to make all of them. If there are over 100 entries in the open there will be $1000.00 added so encourage every one to kick off the New Year with us. Last year we gave over $45,000 added money and awards. We already have 17 of the 22 saddles donated that will be given out next year. What great support we have from our sponsors we appreciate each one of you.
Again thank you for the gifts.
